How it works
- It captures the audio of the call from your computer, with permission.
- It turns the question into text. Accents, crosstalk and poor audio reduce accuracy here.
- It drafts an outline from the question, your resume and the job description: a structure to follow, not a script.
- You answer in your own words. Keep only what is true and relevant. Each step adds delay, so expect a couple of seconds.

Set it up before the interview
- Run a test call with a friend and confirm the app hears the other person, not only you.
- Use headphones to avoid echo that wrecks transcription.
- Upload your current resume and the job description so suggestions are specific.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb so a notification does not cover the overlay.
- Practice with a mock interview so you need the suggestions less.
Want a second pair of eyes?
Sideline lets one person you trust follow your session from their browser. They see the live transcript text and frames of your screen and can send you short notes. No audio, including the interviewer's, is relayed. Use it only where your interview rules allow outside help.
Privacy
The Interview Copilot is a separate desktop app and does not join your meeting as a bot. Audio is captured on your device and sent to the speech and AI providers you have selected. Am I allowed to use it in my interview?
That depends on the employer. Some prohibit any outside assistance and may disqualify candidates who use it; others allow notes or AI tools. Read the interview instructions and ask the recruiter if it is unclear. If it is not allowed, use the mock interview to prepare instead.
Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?
It captures audio at the computer level, so it works alongside most video platforms. Audio routing differs by operating system, so test it on a call with a friend before the real interview.
How fast are the suggestions?
Capture, transcription and answer generation each take time, so expect a couple of seconds after the question ends, longer on a slow connection or with a larger model. Start your answer with a sentence of your own while the outline appears.
Does it join my meeting as a bot?
No. It runs as a separate desktop app on your computer and does not join the call. Audio is captured on your device and sent to the speech and AI providers you have selected.
What does it not do well?
It lags behind rapid-fire questions, it cannot invent experience you do not have, and poor audio produces wrong transcriptions and therefore wrong suggestions. It is a prompt, not a substitute for preparation.
