Interview Practice

Unlimited mock interviews with AI interviewers to master any job type

Staff+ Level coaching emphasizes system-level tradeoffs and leadership scenarios; Entry Level focuses on foundational STAR structure and clarity.

Objective

Comprehensive evaluation across skills, experience, and culture fit.

Interview Procedure

1

Step 1: Start with a warm greeting and introduce yourself.

Create a comfortable environment. Introduce yourself professionally, explain the structure of the interview, and allow the candidate to ask any clarifying questions.

2

Step 2: Ask behavior-related or challenging technical questions.

Ask 5 questions total in this step. For each question: (a) Wait for the candidate's complete response, (b) Provide the MODEL ANSWER showing what a great response looks like, (c) Score the answer (1–10) with specific strengths and areas to improve, (d) Ask relevant follow-up questions to dig deeper.

3

Step 3: Handle conclusion appropriately.

Based on the conversation history: If the candidate demonstrates lack of knowledge in their role or shows signs of frustration/disinterest, end the meeting with a polite closing statement. Otherwise, proceed to a final summary and thank the candidate for their time.

Tip: Interview duration is 30 minutes. Manage your time to complete all 3 steps. Focus on quality conversations over rushing through questions.

What Is AI Mock Interview Practice?

AI mock interview practice is a simulated interview where an AI interviewer asks role-specific questions, listens to your spoken answers, and scores your structure, pace, and clarity. It lets you rehearse behavioral, technical, coding, and system design rounds any time — no scheduling, no interview partner, and no waiting.

How Aissence Interview Practice Works

  1. Pick your interview type and level. Choose behavioral, technical, coding, or system design at entry, mid, senior, or staff difficulty.
  2. Answer out loud. The AI asks a question and you respond by voice, just as you would in a real screen.
  3. Get specific feedback. You see where an answer was vague, unstructured, or too long, not just a generic score.
  4. Re-run your weakest answer. Improvement compounds fastest when you fix the worst answer first, then repeat.

Practice Every Interview Type in One Place

  • Behavioral: Rehearse STAR-structured stories and follow-up questions. See the live interview copilot for real rounds.
  • Coding: Talk through algorithms and complexity with the coding interview copilot.
  • Phone screens: Warm up for recruiter and hiring-manager calls with the phone interview copilot.
  • System design: Practice requirement clarification and trade-off reasoning at senior and staff levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI mock interview?

An AI mock interview is a simulated interview where an AI interviewer asks role-specific questions, listens to your spoken answers, and gives feedback on structure, pace, and clarity. It lets you rehearse behavioral, technical, coding, and system design rounds on demand, without scheduling a human partner.

Is Aissence interview practice free?

Yes. Aissence has a free tier for mock interview practice, and paid plans add more sessions and advanced feedback. Check the current pricing page for the exact free allowance, because plan limits change over time.

What interview types can I practice?

You can practice behavioral, technical, coding, and system design interviews across entry, mid, senior, and staff difficulty. Each mode adapts its questions and scoring to the role and level you select, so a staff system design session is meaningfully harder than an entry behavioral one.

How many mock interviews should I do before a real one?

Three to five focused sessions is enough for a single screening round. Use the first session to find weak answers, the next two to fix them, and the last one or two to build consistency. For onsite loops with four or more rounds, plan eight to ten sessions split by interview type.

Is using an AI mock interview allowed?

Practicing with an AI tool before an interview is standard preparation and is not against any employer rule. Live in-interview assistance is different — confirm the employer’s policy first. When live use is not permitted, use practice mode beforehand and review the responsible-use guidance.
