Tutorial: Set Up AissenceAI for Zoom Interviews
This step-by-step guide walks you through configuring AissenceAI to work during Zoom video interviews. Total setup time: under 5 minutes. Once configured, AissenceAI captures the interviewer's audio from Zoom, processes it through AI, and displays real-time answer suggestions in a stealth overlay invisible to screen sharing.
Step 1: Download the Desktop App
Visit aissence.ai/desktop-app and download the installer for your operating system (Windows or macOS). Install and launch the app.
Step 2: Configure Audio Capture
In Settings → Audio, select "System Audio" as your capture source. This captures the Zoom meeting audio directly from your speakers/headphones output — no meeting bot required. AissenceAI never joins as a participant.
Step 3: Add Your AI API Key
In Settings → AI Configuration, add your API key for GPT-4o, Claude, or Gemini. With BYOK (Bring Your Own Key), your data goes directly to your chosen AI provider. See AI interview help guide for key setup details.
Step 4: Position the Overlay
The stealth overlay appears on your screen but is invisible to Zoom screen sharing and recording. Position it near your webcam so glancing at suggestions appears as natural eye movement. Use the stealth mode settings to adjust transparency and size.
Step 5: Test Before Your Interview
Join a test Zoom call with a friend. Verify: audio capture works, AI generates responses, and the overlay is invisible in screen recordings. Use mock interview mode for a solo test.
Troubleshooting
- No audio captured: Ensure system audio (not microphone) is selected. Check OS audio permissions
- Overlay visible in recording: Ensure you are using the desktop app (not web app) and stealth mode is enabled
- Slow responses: Switch to a faster AI model or check API key quotas
